A troubled young troubadour, David Townsend has fought with demons and angels, struggled with chemicals and consequences, leaving him half the man he once was. David’s 1998 solo release, Back Lake Park, was fraught with eminent peril and schizophrenic breakups. Every so often Dave escapes in his car or on his bike to safe haven camps, earning his name as a Hauler. Often he is captured by the police and taken to jail or to solitary confinement. More recently there has been hope for him, as he has been playing at weddings and parties, being well received, crossing his rites and showing his light. |
