Infamy Is Interesting

Well known people who are
Forthcoming and gracious
Aren’t nearly as intriguing
As celebrities labeled unrighteous
Controversy and fame
Mixed with mystery
Has always been
An attention getting recipe
Indeed, infamy is interesting

Even the most notable charitable acts
Never make the news
But the comical everyday life
And corrupt politician’s shoes
You might here about a rock stars cheating love affair
If he wasn’t who he is
Would anyone really care?

Indeed, infamy is interesting

Unanswered questions
And suspicious actions
Reflect reality
Headlines feature public figures
In a breach of morality

Two Different Days

The winds been blowing hard today
Yes the reeds by the lake are bent down
In a drastic way

It was calm yesterday
You could toss a stone into still water
And watch circles ripple away
Store another memory of two different days

I was walking in New York City
On the Tuesday after Labor Day
There was humid heat everywhere
And people going every which way

Six months before on Saturday
I slid down a snow covered hill
There was no one around
In the Alaskan winter chill
Store another memory of two different days

Tomorrow I’ll work all day as a carpenter and a cook
Then close up and put away another 24 hour book
I’ll spend the next day in an easy restful state
After I wake up after sleeping late

Backgammon And Chess

One thing that’s highly entertaining
Is engaging in the purest forms of gaming
Strategy can translate into ecstasy
Of the intellectual variety
Backgammon and Chess

Put the Chinese checkers
And the checkers and decks of cards away
Only two table games are worth extended play
A good friend is a good enemy
Until someone comes away with the
Victory

Living Here

Out on the deck of a cabin
Covered by cirus clouds
Flown over by a flock of majestic birds

Singing through the translucent blue sky
Above the running broo that is heard
At the heart of this domicile is a fire

There must be a hundred miles or more

And I feel like settling down
I feel like living here

The morning mist rises from the valleys low

When the cold evening has gone from this place
The sun comes and lights up the mountain face

The beaches the everpresent evergreen
From the clean water to the

Here is an escape from urban care
